DAB exceeds emissions reduction target early
DAB exceeds emissions reduction target early with 62% decrease in greenhouse gas emissions by 2025, focusing on energy efficiency and sustainability goals.

DAB Pumps has exceeded its 2030 target for reducing Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions five years ahead of schedule, with emissions falling by 62% from 8,332 tonnes of CO2e in 2020 to 3,143 tonnes by the end of 2025.
The company’s initial sustainability overview shows that roughly 99% of its total carbon impact comes from how its pumps are used after customers take possession, showing the need for long-term energy efficiency.
DAB had committed to reducing combined Scope 1 and market-based Scope 2 emissions by 50% by 2030 against a 2020 baseline, but they have already surpassed this target.
Adam Ferneyhough, DAB Pumps’ UK and Ireland leader, noted that pumps often stay active for decades, meaning their energy use over time can dwarf the emissions tied to making them initially.
These results send a clear message to the UK’s building services industry: focusing only on a pump’s manufacturing footprint misses the bigger picture—the energy these systems consume while running.
DAB’s efforts to reduce emissions are supported by its focus on sustainability, which includes a range of initiatives to minimize its environmental impact.

DAB’s Scope 3 emissions associated with the use of sold products fell by 15% between 2024 and 2025, supported by factors including a more energy-efficient product portfolio and its H2D ecosystem, which grew to 25,200 connected pumps.
Renewable energy now covers about 22% of DAB’s factory electricity needs, while water use at its sites declined by 14% in 2025, and recycled water volumes surged by 119%.
Adam Ferneyhough added: “As a business focused on the movement and management of water, DAB has a responsibility to consider how both water and energy are used throughout its operations and by the systems it puts into the market.
The company’s Sustainability Report, published as DAB celebrates its 50th anniversary, establishes a framework for measuring future progress and covers DAB’s environmental, social and governance performance, providing a clear overview of its commitment to sustainability.
According to local reports, DAB’s progress in reducing emissions and its focus on sustainability are notable achievements, demonstrating the company’s dedication to minimizing its environmental impact.
