Chanel Unveils New Jewelry Collection
Chanel unveils new high jewelry collection, Signes Symboles, featuring motifs like lions and camellias inspired by Coco Chanel’s life.

Chanel’s new high jewelry collection, Signes Symboles, takes its cues from Coco Chanel’s personal life and surroundings. The 85-piece array features motifs such as lions, stars, and camellias, which were inspired by the designer’s personal life and surroundings.
The collection includes turquoise lion rings, diamond and onyx star cuffs, and a pink sapphire camellia. Necklaces featuring a new lozenge shape called Talisman often combine all three motifs.
The Talisman Graphique necklace features amulets densely set with yellow sapphires, adorned with star engravings, and crowned by a camellia flower that holds a 3.57-carat emerald-cut diamond. Meanwhile, the Talisman de Symboles necklace hangs from a tubular chain, displaying plaques with camellia, star, sun, and lion motifs all rendered in pink gold and pink sapphire.
Unlike earlier collections that relied heavily on white diamonds, this lineup introduces lively gemstones such as onyx, carnelian, turquoise, chrysoprase, and spessartite garnet. The bold use of color stands out as a defining feature of the Signes Symboles series.

The collection debuted this year at La Pausa, Chanel’s 10-acre Mediterranean retreat in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, acquired in 1928. The brand recently oversaw a full renovation of the villa, led by architect Peter Marino, a frequent contributor to ELLE Decor.
Today, the villa serves as a venue for exclusive company gatherings and artist residencies, framed by gardens that include stone walls entwined with jasmine, expanses of lavender and iris, and 250 historic olive trees.
The combination of motifs and colors in the collection creates a unique and captivating high jewelry collection that reflects Coco Chanel’s personal style and legacy. The signs and symbols of inspiration are clear when looking at the collection and the villa’s surroundings. Notably, the first Chanel High Jewelry collection, presented in Paris in 1932, featured a series of diamond comet and star pieces, designed by Coco herself, which laid the groundwork for the celestial motifs seen in Signes Symboles.
Observing the villa’s shutters, repainted in the same custom blue as the original, alongside a necklace of emerald beads secured with a turquoise clasp, shows the deep ties between Chanel’s life, her creative vision, and the beauty of La Pausa. This connection highlights the lasting influence of the designer and the timeless appeal of the Signes Symboles collection, as featured in the October 2026 edition of ELLE Decor.
